Cassie Smedile (born May 20) is an American political communications professional and public affairs strategist. She is known for her work in Republican political communications, including senior roles on Capitol Hill, with the Republican National Committee (RNC), and in the conservative public affairs sphere. Smedile has also held executive leadership positions in political action committees and private sector communications.

Early Life and Education

Cassie Smedile was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and grew up with her family there. During her youth she became interested in politics and public service, influenced in part by her early internships and work experiences in Washington, D.C. She attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast & Electronic Communication, with a minor in Political Science.

Career

Congressional Communications

Smedile began her career on Capitol Hill, working in communications roles for members of Congress. Early in her professional trajectory she served as a staff assistant in the Office of the House Republican Whip and later as Deputy Communications Director for the House Ways & Means Committee. She went on to hold communications director positions for several members of Congress, including Representative Ginny Brown-Waite and Representative Sean Duffy, and later for Senator Todd Young of Indiana.

Republican National Committee

In August 2017 Smedile joined the Republican National Committee, where she served in senior communications roles including National Press Secretary and Deputy Communications Director. In these capacities she was a national spokesperson for the party, managing media relations and strategy, and played a significant part in the RNC’s communications operations for multiple election cycles, including planning aspects of the 2020 Republican National Convention.

America Rising and Private Sector Roles

Following her tenure at the RNC, Smedile became Executive Director of America Rising PAC, a political action committee active in Republican electoral politics. In this role she oversaw operations, digital strategy, and communication activities for the organization. She later transitioned to the private sector, serving as Vice President of Communications and Vice President of Marketing for Coign, a strategic consulting and communications firm. In February 2026 she was named a Principal in the public affairs practice group at Cornerstone Government Affairs, a bipartisan government relations and strategic communications firm.

Media Appearances

As part of her communications career, Smedile frequently appeared on national television, radio, and podcasts to discuss political strategy, campaigns, and public policy issues from a conservative perspective. She has been featured on major news networks including Fox News and Bloomberg.

Personal Life
